Adalaide Edith Rowland
ADA• 23; DIANNA AGRON• RESIDENT• LOVELY
Ada is the girl who everyone knows, loves and is dying to be- or at least, she used to be. Sweet as sugar and a death glare that will burn holes in your skin, she's the force of nature you don't want to disturb. Not to paint the wrong picture, to most of the world, Ada is beautiful, kind, intelligent and loving. To a few, the one's who either turned their backs on her, or simply angered her, she's the wicked witch of the west coast. Before moving to Beechshire, Ada was on top of the world.
So far on top of the world that she was in danger of falling straight off the surface of the planet. Her secret was discovered by a girl that was supposed to be her best friend. This was in her third year of high school, and image was everything. After some serious pleading, her daddy transferred her to the local high school here in Beechshire, and Ada became anonymous.
Who exactly is daddy dearest? None other than the mayor of Rowland Heights, California. That's right- family name means family power. The Rowland's have more money than you'd ever imagine possible. Her mother is currently in rehab (another secret) for alcoholism, but to anyone outside the family, she's away visiting her dear, ill aunt Marsha. While she's away, daddy dearest is at play. Colleen, the 26 year old mistress stays over frequently. It's an unspoken secret. Do you see a theme here? Inside of the big, lovely, Victorian era home lies a hundred secrets that threaten the Rowland's existence daily. It's only natural that after living in that house for so long, Ada has a few secrets of her own.
ADA ROWLAND'S SECRETS:
-When she was fourteen, her mother told her to slim down, and so Ada did. At age fifteen she was hospitalized for being underweight due to bulimia. The family said she had a bad bout of the stomach flu. True enough.
-Ada had been in love with the boy next door her whole life, and her best friend had been dating him for almost as long. Right before Ada moved, she wrote him a letter, explaining everything. As much as she wanted to kiss him, she couldn't bring herself to hurt her best friend.
-She spent her last year of high school being invisible, and she learned that when you don't talk, you listen. She knows a few secrets herself.
After graduating high school, Ada register at the local college, majoring in business science. She has since opened up more, and has made friends. Around town she's known as sweet and friendly, maybe a little lost. She was taught to ask for as much of anything as possible, and so she's constantly overwhelmed and wanting things she cant have. Underneath everything, all the walls she has put up around herself, she craves love and attention, but knows she cant draw too much of it to herself or she may have to relocate again. Being center of attention was her life for sixteen years, and to go from burning brighter than the sun to being darker than the other side of the moon takes a lot out of a person. Being in Beechshire has chipped away at a lot of her personality, and even though she won't admit it, she's very unsure of who she is. Most days, she's lonely at best. You'd never know, though. She'll just raise another wall to close you out. That's the last, and greatest of her secrets.

Intentionally cruelty was never something Savvy could understand. Part of this was because of her house, but for the most part, she just didn't get it. 'Do unto others, what you wish to be done upon you' was how she liked to live her life, though it was really just a fancy way of saying 'treat others how you wish to be treated.' Harming some one who had done you wrong was one thing, but a harmless creature? What was the point in it? Well, apparently there was some joy to be had in torturing innocent reptiles, but Sav had no interest in finding out.

“Have you ever used a unforgivable on anything before? Use the Avada Kedavra, crucio, or imperio curse on anything?" Sav violently shook her head, no. That was beyond her reach of basic magic. Besides, the intentional cruelty thing. The Wicked Girl circled Savvy, sizing her up and making a judgment. Obviously, Sav came off weak- and truthfully, she was. There was no point in pretending to be something she wasn't. She made no attempt to stand up straighter. It wouldn't make a difference. Fear crept into the back of her mind once again, and even though she didn't think the girl would harm Sav, it did little to console her.
“Don't tell me you think I will use crucio curse on you? Trust me huffie, hurting you will be a waste of my time.I hate wasting time." Savvy waited for relief, for her nervous system to register what was said so she could stop looking like a dear caught in the headlights, but relief did not come. With small clearing of her throat to make sure she didn't stutter, Sav plucked up all the courage in her body and spoke calmly, "I'd be lying if i said the thought hadn't crossed my mind." Relief, finally, came in a small wave from her own bravery. Still, she couldn't take the chance and sound too mouthy. "I suppose it's my lucky day, though." This was as much s she could offer without her voice wavering, and she hoped it further convinced Wicked Girl to not harm Savvy.
Being considered worthless was nothing new, and at this point it did not harm Savvy emotionally to be called so. In fact, her spinelessness may have just saved her life! When the blonde sat down on a rock and cast her cunning blue eyes upon Savvy, the final wave of relief hit Sav, and she let out a tiny sigh. Silently, she began to wonder what could cause a person to behave in such a manner. What could have happened to this girl to make her feel no pain for other living things? What could her past hold? Being in Slytherin generally meant that the students came from better off, pure blooded families. Though this was not always the case, Sav could tell by the girls stance alone it was true.
"So I've seen you in some of my classes. What's your name?" Though she didn't really seem interested in knowing, the girl asked. It wouldn't make a bit of difference, really, because they both knew Sav's name would be forgotten right away. "My name is Savvy, Savvy Ridan." Her cheeks flushed a bit ,and for the millionth time she wondered why her mother couldn't have opted for something more normal. "What's yours? I know we do have a few classes together. Same year, right?
